Thanks for checking out this site!
My interest in astronomy began as a child growing up appreciating
the remote and pristine dark skies of South Dakota.
As do most astronomers, amateur and professional, I began
learning constellations using only "naked eye" observations.
This led to binoculars. (It pays to use GOOD binoculars, I
learned, after going through several of poor quality over
the years!) As a young teen I acquired a couple cheap telescopes
that were essentially useless. Eventually, as an adult, I have
upgraded my equipment...and my knowledge...to include a nice
array of astronomical tools. I have spent a good deal of time
reading everything I can get my hands on, asking a lot of
questions, and entering into conversations as often as possible
with amateurs and professionals alike.
Around the age of 20 I became interested in photography. As
with many who happen into this fun, interesting, time consuming,
and often frustrating hobby, the combination of astronomy
and photography has led in an obvious direction.... ASTROPHOTOGRAPHY.
I have had a great time pursuing this passion, and have come
a long way, considering the few short years I have worked
on it. It takes persistence, patience, and PRACTICE, PRACTICE,
PRACTICE.
Some of my images are very nice. Others are reasonably decent.
And some are not good at all by professional standards. ASTROIMAGING
is an ongoing process of learning...and of trial and error.
Please enjoy my meager offering. As time passes I intend to
replace the lower quality images with better images.
